My Fuzzy Wuzzies

Fuzzy Wuzzy Brown was added to the Crayola line in 1998. My Fuzzy Wuzzies were bought in Germany and now reside in my childrens’ guest room.

In 1927 the Binney & Smith Company added the Snookum’s Crayola Color Set No. 25, based on the popular baby actor, Baby Snookums, played by Lawrence David Mckeen, Jr.  McKeen was featured in 39 “Newlyweds and Their Baby” short movies in the late 1920s, then went on to make a series of six sound short movies on his own. He died at the age of seven, from blood poisoning, ending his early childhood career.

Baby Snookums

Walking Through the Pines

Forest Green is the Crayola name given to Dark Green since 1958. In the “Mexico Collection” it is known as Grass Green. In the “Retro Colors” set it is known as Tambourine Green and in the “State Crayon Colors” it is known as the Greenback, as in the color of paper money.

Mahonia in My Garden

Dandelion has been part of the Crayola Collections since 1990. In Mexico it is known as Carrot. In the “Techno Brite”  series, Floppy Yellow, Sun Glow in the “Discovery” series, Bug Yellow in the “Retro Colors”, Black Eyed Susan in the “Colors of Baltimore” series and A-maize-ing Iowa, the color for Iowa in the “State Crayon Collection.” Dandelion certainly has made the rounds!
