Color Your World: 120 Days of Crayola; Fuzzy Wuzzy Brown

My Fuzzy Wuzzies

My Fuzzy Wuzzies

Fuzzy Wuzzy Brown was added to the Crayola line in 1998. My Fuzzy Wuzzies were bought in Germany and now reside in my childrens’ guest room.

In 1927 the Binney & Smith Company added the Snookum’s Crayola Color Set No. 25, based on the popular baby actor, Baby Snookums, played by Lawrence David Mckeen, Jr.  McKeen was featured in 39 “Newlyweds and Their Baby” short movies in the late 1920s, then went on to make a series of six sound short movies on his own. He died at the age of seven, from blood poisoning, ending his early childhood career.

This post is just one of many in the Color Your World: 120 Days of Crayola Challenge! Enjoy!

Such interesting people stories to things as simple as a box of crayons! I wonder how old this childhood nonsense verse is: “Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear; Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair. Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn’t fuzzy, was he?” (still recited in the 1950’s).

BTW, I like your Fuzzy Wuzzys too – the big one reminds me of the one my son had 40 years ago, and loved to death (pretty much literally).
